Karin De Winter and Jo Van Rossem - both born and based in Belgium, Antwerp region - are fine art nature and culture photographers, operating as a husband and wife team. They had always been avid travelers, and used photography to simply register and document their explorative trips, at the same time pursuing busy careers in medicine (Karin) and architecture (Jo).

However everything changed in 2007 while visiting Namibia for the first time, when they were blown away by its wildlife and unique natural landscapes. Self study and practice became the mainstay of their development as photographers from purely documenting to using this visual art as a creative tool for self-expression.

In 2019 Karin and Jo decided to leave behind the professional health care and architectural world, and concentrate on their photographic art. Creating compelling images that they hope will not leave people untouched is the main goal. Through their art they want to raise awareness and contribute to protection and conservation. Apart from the landscapes and wildlife in deserts, Africa, Asia, and the polar regions, they are also deeply fascinated by Europe’s nature, and the vanishing cultures and traditions around the world.
